The Grand Street BID is proud to announce our new bike corrals and planters on Grand Street at Graham and Manhattan avenues. This new street furniture protects the corner and improves visibility for pedestrians and vehicles alike, while bringing both cyclists and greenery to the area.
This is an important first step towards making our busy street safer and lovelier for all, while we wait for the NYC DOT’s broader response to last year’s extensive visioning process. Like a complete breakfast, a complete street needs a balance of ingredients to keep a community healthy including bike lanes, loading zones for businesses, & protected spaces like these!
We are so grateful to the NYC DOT and the Hort for helping us build this small but important oasis! We hope for more improvements soon - stay tuned!
